The Associated Students of NMSU (ASNMSU) fund a maximum of $500 per student organization through the college councils. The funds are disbursed according to the processes defined in the Engineering Student Council (ESC) Bylaws and ASNMSU Law Book. The ESC disburses additional funds from other sources to each student organization through the grant process.
FUNDING REQUIREMENTS OVERVIEW
- Be a member of the Council to receive $250.
- To receive the remaining $250 in a given academic year, organizations must accumulate at least 25 points of the 100 possible number of points available to each organization.
- The student organization with the most number of points will receive $700 through the grant process.

FUNDING PROCESS STEP-BY-STEP
|STEP 1: What do you want to buy?
See the funding guide to decide on your purchase ( business purpose ) and identify funding method ( P-Card or PO). Be aware of what E-Council Appropriations and Grants can buy v.s. what can be reimbursed to you from ASNMSU Bills.
|STEP 2: Fill out the Council Appropriation Form
For Business Purpose, describe what you’re going to purchase.
If you are buying food do fill out the meals worksheet that is linked at the bottom of the form.
Email form to email@example.com ( without signatures).
|STEP 3: Present to your request to the Council at the next ESC meeting.
Council will email the form back with 3 signatures.
You should then print it.
|STEP 4: Obtain the last signature from then make Purchases.
It’s best to visit the ASNMSU office in person (to speak to the Student Comptroller, Lorraine, Debbie or a student aid) for STEP 4.
Email copies of receipts after purchases to Council Director of Finance to keep track of your organization balance and actual council balance too.
